Department’s Tasks:
- conducting the passport affairs
- conducting the affairs resulting from the Governor’s supervision over the activities of the Registry Offices
- considering the appeals from the administrative decisions issued on the basis of the Act on Registry Office and of the Act on changing names and surnames
- supervising the activities of the communal authorities in scope of fulfilment of the duties specified in the Act on population registration and identity cards
- considering the appeals from the administrative decisions issued by the communal authorities on the basis of the Act on population registration and identity cards
- considering the appeals in the affairs related to granting access to the registration data
- keeping the Province Population Register
- supervising the conduct of the affairs related to issuing the identity cards
- co-working with the consular institutions of the foreign states for the affairs concerning the civil registry records law
- co-working with the consular institutions of the Republic of Poland for the affairs concerning: the civil registry records law, passports
- organizing the registration process of the pre-recruits and the recruitment procedure as well as supervising those processes
- providing services for the Province Medical Board
- considering the appeals from the decisions in the affairs to classify soldiers to be the only supporters of the members of their families and the appeals of the recruits applying for postponement of the military service due to taking care of a family member
- conducting the affairs resulting from the regulations of the Acts on relation of the State to the churches and religious associations and of the Act on guaranteed freedom of conscience and religion
- providing aid to the churches and religious associations in order to develop socially beneficial initiatives
- granting permits to assemble at a territory of the former Nazi extermination camp
