Who can submitt an application?

An application for granting a temporary residence permit  for the purpose of performing work in a profession requiring high qualifications is submitted by a Foreigner for whom performing work in such a profession is the aim of staying in Poland. A foreigner attaches annex no. 1 and no. 2 filled out by the employer to the application for granting a temporary residence permit; they indicate a foreigner’s employment terms and conditions.

A residence permit authorizes to reside and work in Poland under the rules specified in it throughout its validity period. This permit is granted for a period longer than 3 months than the period of performing work but not longer than 3 years, with the possibility of applying for a subsequent permit.  

A Foreigner receives a Residence Card with the annotation “the EU Blue Card” on its basis. 

 

What is a profession requiring high qualifications? 

It is a profession requiring a foreigner to complete higher education studies or possessing at least 5 years of professional experience on a level comparable with the level of qualifications obtained as a result of completing higher education studies which are necessary for performing this work.

The amount of a minimal annual gross remuneration required for granting a permit cannot be lower than the equivalent of 150% of the amount of average remuneration in the national economy in the preceding year concluding an agreement, announced by the President of  Statistics Poland on the basis of art. 20 pt. 1 letter a of the Act on Pensions and Disability Pensions from the Social Security Fund of 17 December 1998 (Journal of Laws of 2017, item 1383, 1386, and 2120).
