Registration of an EU citizen
Things worth knowing
- failure to comply with the obligation to register one's residence on the territory of the Republic of Poland is subject to a fine;
- the application should be completed in Polish, legibly, with capital letters;
- documents drawn up in a foreign language should be submitted together with their translations into Polish made by a sworn translator;
- original documents should be presented for inspection or their notary certification should be attached;
- an immediate descendant of the EU citizen is her/his child or her/his spouse's child of less than 21 years of age or being the European Union citizen's or her/his spouse's dependent;
- an immediate ancestor of the EU citizen is her/his parent or her/his spouse's parent being the European Union citizen's or her/his spouse's dependent;
- a certificate of an EU citizen's residence registration is valid for an indefinite period of time.
